04/08/14, Nest excavations - ARCHELON
Archelon, the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece is excited to announce that our first Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta caretta) nests have hatched! This means that we will be holding our first public excavations of the hatched nests this week. When we excavate the nests, we dig up all the eggs to count how many have hatched and it is a brilliant opportunity to see up close the work that we do and to possibly see some baby hatchlings as well!
We would like to invite you and your guests to attend the excavations at these times:
Wednesday 6th August - 17.30 - in front of Alkionis Hotel, Sfakaki
Sunday 10th August - 11.00 - near the River Taverna, Platanes
Sunday 10th August - 17.30 - in front of Atlantis Beach Hotel, Rethymno
